From a Media City apartment to the App Store’s top shelf.
In 2013, three engineers — Yousef, Maya and Karim — left their jobs at Apple, Careem and Booking.com to rent a small apartment above a shawarma shop in Dubai Media City. Their pitch was bold: Dubai deserved a world-class mobile studio, not another offshore outsourcing shop.
The first six months were brutal. They took any project that paid rent. A delivery app for a single restaurant. A prayer-time widget. A falconer’s breeding tracker. But each shipped app taught them the same lesson: Dubai’s brands wanted craft, not just code.
Twelve years later, that apartment is a 19th-floor office in Sheikh Rashid Tower at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The three founders lead a team of 84 engineers, designers and product managers across four cities. The apps we build have been downloaded over 8 million times — and our clients have raised more than AED 1.8 billion in funding on the back of products we shipped.
